PATRON SAINT OF CAT HERDERS
(The following story is hand-written on the back.)
According to legend, an angel appeared to some shepherds informing them of the birth of a very special child. The shepherds departed immediately, for it was quite far. Fergus, however, was not a shepherd, but a cat herder. The obstacles of a cat herder are far more pronounced than that of a shepherd. In addition to crossing rugged terrains in rain, snow and sleet, cats have a host of psychological issueswater phobias, attention deficit disorders, customary 14-hour naps, and a refusal to take orders from authority figures. So, with lots of patience, tuna in hand and a long string with a toy mouse to drag along, he accomplished the impossible and herded the cats all the way to his destination. His journey was exceedingly lengthy, but was able to give this very special child a welcome all his own.
